The aim of the course is to build bridges between students living in the world of applications and platforms and the "boring" learning and school library environment and the school services. We will learn the methods, results and mindset of user experience design in order to contribute to the creation of a 21st-century learning and school library environment.
Description:
This course intends to help school representatives and school librarians to transfer their institutes into 21st-century learning and community spaces. With cooperative learning methods, they will learn the basics of UX and the possible application of its mindset for reshaping school and library services and library spaces. Participants will have the opportunity to work individually and in groups as well. Regular self-reflection is an important tool for measuring personal development.
Aims and objectives:
The primary goal is to build bridges between Alpha and Gen Z's needs and school services. Developing a mindset that enables participants to continually rethink, transform and redesign their schools and services in order to meet rapidly changing needs.
Learning outcomes:
By mastering the use of UX tools, and design thinking methods participants will be able to respond sensitively even to needs that do not yet exist. The goal is to make big changes at low cost: to track, analyse, and apply best practices to improve schools and school libraries within the school community independently of their financial possibilities.
