International Student Mobilities (Group and Individual) – New Learning Experiences across Europe

We love to travel. We come back with unique experiences from our holiday. Travel broadens our knowledge about the cultures and if we can travel for free or on a low budget, it's even better! We invite you to enter the world of international student mobilities through Erasmus+ funding.

Why is it worth taking part? International, learning-focused student travels bring tremendous benefits for students’ personal growth and knowledge development:

  1. Language Learning and Practice: Students get the chance to communicate with local students in the country’s language or a common European language, building practical language skills and confidence. Such experiences promote language learning and encourage them to take on new languages.
  2. Expanding Cultural Awareness: Traveling allows students to experience the customs, traditions, and values of other cultures. This helps to break down stereotypes and fosters empathy and open-mindedness, a vital skill in our globalized world.
  3. Developing Independence and Responsibility: Traveling to another country means students encounter new situations where they often make decisions independently. This strengthens problem-solving skills, self-confidence, and sense of responsibility.
  4. Educational Benefits and Experiences: Students often get to directly see and experience what they learn in school curricula. Visiting historical sites, museums, art galleries, or even conducting scientific experiments enriches learning and makes lessons memorable.
  5. Building International Relationships: Students can meet peers from other countries, make friends, and form long-term connections that may become valuable personally and professionally in the future.
  6. Career Opportunities: Such travels provide insight into the skills needed in the global job market and help students plan their career paths. The skills gained from travel, such as communication, adaptability, and creativity, make them more appealing to future employers.

From a teacher’s perspective, these trips are equally advantageous, with the added benefit of observing the work methods of foreign colleagues through professional visits, like shadowing lessons in the host institution (job shadowing).

What types of Erasmus+ student mobility are available? Through Erasmus+, institutions in general education (primary and secondary schools, kindergartens) and vocational training can send students individually or in groups to educational institutions within EU countries. For vocational students, there is also an opportunity to participate in internship programs.

Hosting foreign students does not require a successful Erasmus+ application.

How long are mobility projects? Group student mobility projects are typically 7 days for practical reasons, but they can be shorter or longer. Professional internships range from 2 weeks to several months.

How does the Hungary Expert (HE) team help? We find the best fitting host partner school for you in Hungary. We take all aspects into consideration so that we find your most motivated, reliable host: project aims, school character, geographical and cultural viewpoints, etc. We can also organize your visit: meet and greet at the airport/train station, local public transport tickets, accommodation, meals, cultural activities, etc.

If you would visit Budapest, we can offer you 3 different project themes on that your students could work together with the Hungarian students (by clicking on the title a more detailed description is available):

Sustainability on Multiple Levels

Building a Better World: A Journey to Empathy

A Technology-Driven Exploration of Budapest’s Cultural Legacy

The projects are elaborated in different ways for each age group, and are led by native-level English speaking program coordinators, using the PBL methodology.

The participating Hungarian students and the Erasmus+ documentation will be provided by the local hosting school.

If you come to Hungary, we would be pleased to give you a package proposal including all services you need, like accommodation, meals, programs, etc., that can be fully or partially covered by the Erasmus+ subsistence fee.

If you are open to hosting individual or group students or teachers for professional visits to enhance your school’s international relations and provide language and cultural exchanges for your students (and gain extra points on your next Erasmus+ application), we’d love to hear from you.
