Description:
This course explores how outdoor and adventure-based learning can improve student motivation, wellbeing and cooperation. Participants learn practical activities, group challenges and nature-based tasks that can be adapted to any age group and school setting. The course connects wellbeing, sustainability and experiential pedagogy—three major Erasmus priorities.
Aims and objectives:
Participants will:
- Discover outdoor learning methodologies
- Build a toolkit of nature-based and low-prep outdoor activities
- Learn groupwork, cooperation and resilience-building techniques
- Understand wellbeing benefits of experiential learning
- Develop outdoor lesson plans adaptable to any school
Learning outcomes:
Participants will be able to:
- Facilitate outdoor learning safely and effectively
- Use adventure-based tasks to build cooperation
- Integrate wellbeing goals into teaching
- Adapt outdoor lessons for urban and indoor environments
- Apply risk management and safety protocols

14.30 – 15.00: Familiarisation with the site, health and safety briefing
15.00 – 17.30: Introduction of the course and trainer, introduction of the participants – 5 minutes for each participant to introduce themselves and their institution and the objectives they wish to achieve by completing the course
18.00 – 19.30: Informal get-together with the course participants over dinner.
